THE REQUIREMENT
What the project needed
Replacement parts need to be discoverable from the equipment they fit. A part may also act as a parent product with its own spare parts — and managing relationships twice would create unnecessary work.
OUR TECHNICAL WORK
What we developed
We developed a custom bidirectional parts-assignment module for OpenCart. A relationship is entered once and reflected from both relevant product views, including cases where a part is simultaneously a primary product and a replacement part.
